All you need to know about NOW Broadband

NOW Broadband is a subsidiary of Sky. They started life in 2012 as a TV streaming service, similar to Netflix. In 2016 they launched their broadband service offering the UK's first contract free broadband.

Let's take a look in more detail at what NOW Broadband has to offer.

NOW Broadband packages

NOW Broadband has three packages:

Brilliant Broadband - Standard ADSL broadband with average download speeds of 11Mb and upload speeds of 1.3Mb. With this speed you should easily be able to send emails, browse the internet and stream in SD.

Fab Fibre - Fibre broadband with average download speeds of 36Mb and upload speeds of 10Mb. This package is best suited to gamers and frequent HD streamers.

Super Fibre - The top fibre package with average download speeds of 63Mb and upload speeds of 19Mb. Perfect for larger homes with multiple devices streaming or gaming at the same time.

All broadband packages are available on a standard 12 month contract, or a rolling monthly contract. If you go for the monthly option then there is a higher set up cost, currently around £60. So you will need to factor this in when deciding which is best for your needs.

NOW Broadband Home Phone

Pay as you go calls are included with NOW Broadband packages. If you need more, then you can upgrade to either Evening and Weekend calls or Anytime calls.

Why choose NOW Broadband?

Unlimited downloads with no traffic management

All NOW Broadband's packages are totally unlimited and have no traffic management. So you will not be slowed down at busy times.

No contract option

The no contract option is perfect for those who only need broadband for a short time, such as students on those on shorter tenancies.

Option to add a call package

NOW Broadband packages include line rental and pay as you go calls. You have the option to add a call package if you choose.

No credit checks

NOW Broadband don't do any credit checks before signing you up as a new customer. Ideal for those with low credit scores, or young people who are just starting out.

Free for all NOW Broadband customers. Broadband Buddy gives you:

  • Control over which websites your family can access and when, on all devices connected to broadband

What's bad about NOW Broadband?

Fibre not available everywhere

NOW Broadband uses the Sky network. Whilst this covers almost 95% of the UK, there are still a few areas that don't yet have fibre available.

Set up fees

There is a set up fee, currently £60, for those who choose the monthly contract option.

Line rental required

Line rental is included in all NOW Broadband packages. There is no option to buy without a phone line.
