All you need to know about TalkTalk Broadband
TalkTalk began life in 2003 as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse. In 2010 they split from Carphone Warehouse and quickly became one of the most popular broadband providers offering some of the lowest priced packages in the UK.
Let's take a look in more detail at what TalkTalk Broadband has to offer.
TalkTalk Broadband packages
Like most providers, TalkTalk uses the BT Openreach network. TalkTalk has standard fibre broadband packages, plus full fibre options for those who can get it.
Fast Broadband
TalkTalk's basic ADSL broadband with download speeds averaging 11Mb and upload speeds averaging 1Mb. Not the fastest around but this should still be enough for one-two devices with light everyday usage, such as emails, social media and occasional streaming.
Fibre 35
TalkTalk's fibre package has download speeds averaging 38Mb and upload speeds averaging 9Mb. Perfect for families and shared homes with a few people online at the same time, you will find a much better connection for things like Netflix than on the basic ADSL package.
Fibre 65
Larger busier households or those into gaming will probably prefer the top package of Faster Fibre. This has average download speeds of 67Mb and upload speeds of 17Mb.
Full Fibre
Talktalk are still rolling out their full fibre (FTTP) packages, with speeds up to 944Mb and no phone line needed. There are currently 3 speed tiers:
- Full Fibre 150 - average speeds of 152Mb
- Full Fibre 500 - average speeds of 525Mb
- Full Fibre 900 - average speeds of 944Mb
TalkTalk Home Phone
TalkTalk broadband and standard fibre broadband customers get pay as you go calls included, with the option to upgrade to either:
- Unlimited UK Calls
- International Max
