Plusnet started life in Sheffield in 1997 offering dial up internet. They have come a long way since then and thankfully, so has the internet. In 2007 they were acquired by the BT Group, though they continue to operate independently. What packages do Plusnet Broadband offer?

Plusnet have a range of Full Fibre (FTTP) plans, as well as a SOGEA powered Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) plan for those not yet in full fibre areas. There is also an Unlimited Broadband (ADSL) plan, but it is available only for those customers with no fibre availability at their address.

What is Plusnet Perks?

In June 2023 Plusnet re-launched their Plusnet Perks loyalty reward programme.

Plusnet Broadband customers get immediate access to exclusive deals, discounts and free trials on a huge range of products across lots of brands including Gousto, TasteCard, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee and The Body Shop. What router do I get with Plusnet Broadband?

Plusnet Fibre and full fibre customers will receive a free Hub Two wireless router.

The Hub Two comes with 1 x FXS (phone) port, 4 x Gigabit Ethernet ports (3 LAN and 1 WAN), integrated ADSL / VDSL and G.fast modems, 1 x USB 2.0 port and reasonably capable Wi-Fi 5 (2.4GHz 3 x 3 MIMO 11n and 5GHz 4×4 MIMO 11ac).

How fast is Plusnet Broadband?

Plusnet has a choice of speeds depending on the package you choose. Their fibre packages are available in speeds up to 66Mb, whilst their full fibre (FTTP) is up to 910Mb.

Can I get Plusnet Broadband without a landline?

Plusnet broadband packages are now broadband only, so there’s no landline on either their SoGEA Fibre plan, or their Full Fibre plans. Plusnet has so far opted not to launch their own digital IP based phone product.

Do Plusnet offer a fixed price guarantee?

No, as of 7th October 2020 Plusnet no longer offer their fixed price guarantee. Instead, their price will increase each year by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation plus 3.9%.

Is Plusnet Broadband any good?

Plusnet prides itself on its UK based customer service. In the Ofcom customer service report published 18th May 2023, 89% of Plusnet customers were satisfied with their broadband service, just slightly higher than the industry average of 82%.

Can I get a TV package from Plusnet?
