iD Mobile offers

All you need to know about iD Mobile

Launched by Dixons Carphone in 2014 and operating on the Three network, iD Mobile is built around value, flexibility and control. They offer a wide range of pay monthly, SIM only and pay as you go plans at some of the cheapest prices available.

Let's take a look in more details at what iD Mobile has to offer.

Pay monthly phone plans

iD Mobile has a huge selection of pay monthly phones, including some refurbished phones.

Their pay monthly contracts are 24 months and most come with unlimited minutes and texts, with the exception of the 500Mb data plan that has 250 minutes. The data allowances range from 500Mb up to unlimited.

SIM only plans

iD Mobile has SIM only on 30 day rolling contracts. This means you're free to modify your plan monthly, increasing or decreasing your data to suit your lifestyle.

Data starts from as low as 500Mb with 150 minutes, right up to unlimited data and minutes.

All SIM only plans come with unlimited texts.

Why choose iD Mobile?

Data rollover

Roll over your unused data into the following month. Any rolled over data will automatically be used before the rest of your allowance.

Data cap

Data capping allows you to put a limit on your monthly spend. So if you do use all your data, or you're travelling to a country not included in those with free roaming, the cap will stop you running up a huge bill.

Coverage

iD Mobile is an MVNO which piggybacks onto the Three network so you can expect the coverage to be much the same as if you went direct with Three. Their 4G network covers around 98% of the UK population.

Tethering

You are free to tether with iD Mobile (assuming your device supports this). Tethering is turning your phone into a personal hotspot so that you can use your mobile data allowance to get online with other devices like a laptop or tablet.

This can really chew through your data though so make sure to keep your eye on your allowance.

iD Mobile App

Use the iD Mobile app to keep track of your data and buy add-ons.

WiFi calling

WiFi calling is supported on iD Mobile. WiFi calling lets you make calls anywhere you have WiFi. This is great for areas that struggle with mobile signal, such as rural locations or inside buildings with thick walls.

Roaming with iD Mobile

All iD Mobile plans come with inclusive EU roaming. Roam like you're at home in 50 destinations worldwide, for free (subject to fair usage & open data policies).

What's bad about iD Mobile?

Limited perks

iD Mobile is built around value so you won't find much in the way of extra perks like you with other providers.

No data only

No data only plans are available for tablets.

No early upgrades

iD Mobile doesn't offer any early upgrade options for those who want to switch to the latest phone before their contract is up.

No WiFi hotspots

iD Mobile doesn't give you access to any WiFi hotspots. This might not be an issue for you, especially given a lot of business have free WiFi you can use anyway, such as in cafes etc.

Price increases

All pay monthly contracts have an annual price adjustment in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI).
