Until now customers could only get up to 100GB, so this announcement will come as great news to those looking for unlimited data.
Unlimited data is something that many other providers have offered for a while now but Sky Mobile have held off, instead focusing on their Piggybank feature.
With Piggybank, customers are able to roll over any unused data each month to either be used at a later date, or traded in for money off a new device or accessory. For many years the data rolled over for 3 years - a huge selling point to customers and quite unique to the market with most other providers simply losing the data. However, recently this 3 years was reduced to 1 year, causing frustration for many customers who had built up a large Piggybank.
Previously the most customers could get was 100GB for £30 per month. The new 4G and 5G unlimited data plan is priced at £35 per month for sim only, or £25 per month when purchased with a handset. However, we have noticed the standard price for the sim only plan looks to be £40, so we wouldn't be surprised if prices increased after the launch period ends.
