The new package, Full Fibre 100, has launched with average speeds of 100Mbps, putting it snugly between Sky’s current Superfast and Ultrafast packages.
At time of launch, the new package is priced at £38 per month for the first 18 months (£43 out of contract).
As with all Sky fibre broadband packages, their Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee is included as standard, at no extra cost. You can also add WiFi Max to your broadband package for stronger, faster WiFi in every room.
Sky Broadband Full Fibre 100
Ideal for streaming, gaming and working from home, Sky’s new Full Fibre 100 package utilises FTTP technology to deliver ultrafast speeds averaging 100Mbps, with a 90Mbps minimum speed guarantee.
Full Fibre 100 sits in the middle of the existing Superfast and Ultrafast packages which offer average speeds of 61Mbps and 145Mbps.
Superfast | Full Fibre 100 | Ultrafast | |
---|---|---|---|
Average download speed | 61Mbps | 100Mbps | 145Mbps |
Estimate upload speed | 19 - 21Mbps | 18 - 19Mbps | 29 - 31Mbps |
Minimum speed guarantee | 50Mbps | 90Mbps | 100Mbps |
Sky has gone against its current naming tradition (Superfast, Ultrafast etc) with the Full Fibre 100. Whilst it is labelled as full fibre, it is not the only full fibre package available from Sky. All Sky’s fibre packages are available with FTTP connections for those in full fibre areas, as the graphic below shows.
Sky’s Superfast 35 and Superfast are the only packages available to those on FTTC connections.
Current Full Fibre 100 Deal
Quite why the launch price of Full Fibre 100 sits slightly higher than the existing Ultrafast package is somewhat of a mystery, thought we do expect that Full Fibre 100 will become discounted at some point.
