Sky has launched its new Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee at no extra cost for fibre and full fibre broadband customers. This promises to give you money back for one month’s broadband subscription if you can't get 3Mb/s WiFi in every room. Here’s everything you need to know.
What is Sky’s Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee?
Sky's Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee states that if customers don’t get at least 3Mb/s in every room of the house then they’ll get money back on one month’s broadband subscription. Seems pretty straightforward to us. There are however, as you’d probably expect, a few small caveats to be aware of.
- You need to have fibre or full fibre broadband
- You need to be within your minimum term, and you can claim only once during it
- Your broadband needs to have been active for more than 14 days
- You don’t pay for Sky Broadband Boost with WiFi Guarantee
- You have a Sky Broadband Hub
What do Sky mean by ‘every room’?
‘Every room’ under Sky’s Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee includes:
- All main rooms in your home like living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens. Up to 5 bedrooms or 12 rooms total
- A garage that is accessed without having to go outside
- A converted loft room – it needs to have a fixed staircase, fully boarded and furnished
- Conservatory
It doesn’t include:
- Any exterior buildings like garages, sheds, annexes, etc.
- An unconverted loft – one that is not furnished
How much is Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee?
Sky’s Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee is available at no extra cost to Sky broadband fibre and full fibre customers.
How is Wall to Wall different from Sky Boost?
Previously, Sky Broadband customers could only get a WiFi Guarantee as part of Sky’s ‘Boost’ add on. This Boost guarantee is very similar to the Wall to Wall guarantee, giving you money back on your Sky Broadband Boost subscription if you can't get 3Mb/s WiFi in every room. In addition, the Boost add on also gets you daily line checks for faults, premium engineer visits on evenings and weekends and WiFi boosters, if your home needs them.
New and existing Sky Q customers can still sign up to Boost if they wish, but if the WiFi Guarantee is the main reason, then you might be better off with the free Wall to Wall. It’s worth pointing out though, that with the Wall to Wall Wifi Guarantee, you do not get any booster devices to help extend the coverage of your network, like you do with the’ Boost’ add on.
Sky Broadband Boost is no longer available to Sky Broadband customers, or those taking Sky Stream and Sky Glass. Instead those customers will be offered Sky WiFi Max.
How is Wall to Wall different from Sky WiFi Max?
Sky WiFi Max was launched in July 2023, and replaces Broadband Boost.
With Sky WiFi Max you get a better speed guarantee of either 10Mbps or 25Mbps depending on the package you choose. You also receive an upgrade router - the Sky Max Hub. You can read more in our Sky WiFi Max guide.
How do I get money back with Wall to Wall WiFi guarantee?
Sky will credit your Sky account with the cost of one month’s broadband subscription (excluding any Sky Talk subscription or call charges). It will show on your next or future bill.
Money back won’t apply if:
- You’re using WiFi extenders, boosters or routers other than those provided by Sky
- You’ve claimed money back before at the same address within your contract
- Your account’s been blocked due to an unpaid bill
