Great news for sports fans. Virgin Media O2 is offering its existing TV customers the ability to watch live sport in the best picture quality available with Sky Sports Ultra HD channels now on Virgin TV.
This doesn’t come for free though. Existing Virgin Media TV customers can add Sky Sports Ultra HD to their package for an extra £7 per month, on top of their current Sky Sports HD subscription.
Customers with Sky Sports in SD will first need to upgrade to the HD pack. This also costs £7 per month, so the UHD upgrade would effectively be £14 extra. You’ll also need a 4K or HDR compatible TV to experience the higher definition, as well as a V6 box or Virgin TV 360 box.
With the new service, customers will be able to watch a range of live sport in spectacular Ultra HD and HDR including the Premier League, cricket, darts and much more.
The new Sky Sports Ultra HD channels, which include Sky Sports Main Event Ultra HD, Sky Sports Ultra HD 1 and Sky Sports Ultra HD 2, means customers can tune in to a variety of unmissable sporting events in crystal clear quality 24/7.
This latest addition to Virgin Media and Sky’s growing partnership, means that Virgin TV customers can now enjoy the full suite of Ultra HD content from Sky, with Sky Cinema and Entertainment Ultra HD VOD already available to customers.
Virgin TV brings together all of the best content into one place. Its Virgin TV 360 and V6 set top boxes – as well as Stream – give customers the ability to watch Ultra HD and High Dynamic Range (HDR) content on popular streaming apps such as BBC iPlayer, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and YouTube.
Existing Virgin TV customers wanting to add Sky Sports Ultra HD to their subscription can do so by contacting 0800 052 0813.
